Affordable living on the Washington Coast is still achievable.  Founded in 1970 as a resort town, Ocean Shores is still somewhat undiscovered as a residential community, but it won't be that way for long. With a population of nearly 8,000 and a steady annual growth rate of approximately 2% over the last 5 years, Ocean Shores is expanding.  Built out at less than 60%, properties and homes are priced affordably, and Ocean Shores was just named one of America's most affordable beach towns

Outdoor Recreation

With a temperate climate year-round, enjoy 23 miles of fresh-water canals, the bay, and 6 miles of sandy beaches. Visit the ADA accessible boardwalk, launch your boat or kayak, or hike through the Weatherwax coastal forest trails.   With 87 native plant species, the unique flora and fauna attract berry pickers and foragers.  Some of the most sought-after mushrooms can be found here, but don't expect anyone to share their secret locations!  With an 18 hole golf course, summer horseback riding, ocean and freshwater fishing, clamming, and bike rentals, Ocean Shores has it all.

Wildlife and Natural Habitat

In just a 6-mile by 2-mile space, you will encounter ocean beaches, salt marshes, freshwater lagoons, tide pools, jetty rocks, mudflats, freshwater ponds, open dunes, and old growth woods.  Nowhere else in Washington can you find these unique spaces so close together!  It's no wonder it's home to over 300 species of birds throughout the year.  Spot ocean life like migrating whales, crabs, seals, sea lions, and porpoises. Ocean Shores is home to otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, deer, raccoons, coyote, and bears, and even Elk.

Small Town Charm

The peaceful laid-back lifestyle and affordable living gives Ocean Shores the "Small Town" feel.  Enjoy a variety of dining options, go-karts, arcades, mini golf, or kite flying. Ocean Shores is a pet-friendly city with a designated Dog Beach at the Butterclam approach and a city dog park.  We even have a small craft airstrip. The North Beach School District serves approximately 700 total students, with smaller class sizes with a student to teacher ratio of approximately 15:1, allowing more individualized attention.

Low Crime Rates

Ocean Shores is a relatively safe community with low crime rates.  According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR), Ocean Shores reports fewer than 100 crimes annually, with the majority of crimes being non-violent property crimes.  These statistics make the town appealing as a retirement town as well as for families.  For the most accurate and up-to-date statistics, visit the Ocean Shores Police Department's Website. Ocean Shores offers a volunteer-based Citizens Patrol Program.

Having called Ocean Shores home for over 30 years, I love sharing about the wonderful amenities our community offers. I cherish raising my four children in the schools my husband and I once attended and we now coach youth sports and support the next generation.

My deep knowledge of the coastal area's history and the strong, trusting relationships I've built prepare me to support all your real estate needs—whether you're seeking a forever home, a weekend escape, or planning to sell.

Working with Chelsea was fabulous. We were selling our Ocean Shores house in a tough market. Chelsea was the second realtor that we worked with. She got us a great price for the house. We had already moved overseas and she didn't hesitate to help us as our agent on the ground every step of the way. Very grateful. Highly recommended."
